Lawrence is overconfident, extroverted, and never at
a loss for words; while Holloman is timid, uptight, and
reclusive. Following a chance encounter, this modern odd
couple becomes the best of friends and the worst of
enemies. Now poor Lawrence, who has always known
everything about anything, can’t understand why his luck
has taken a downturn. But, lucky for us, in this wicked
comedy things can always get worse. |

BackStage Stage, Remai Arts Centre, 100 Spadina Crescent East
15 year old Dot has decided to do her school project
on the physics of falling objects. And what could be a
better “object” than her dad, a fast ascending business
man. Once she blows him out of the window of his office
on the 73rd floor she figures he’s got 6 seconds before
impact. Of course she hasn’t factored in her dad’s
resistance, her neurotic mom, or her over-involved
frenemies. At times hilarious and at other times horrific,
Velocity is the story of a precocious girl whose
desperation for someone to give a sh** has leads her to
extreme measures, and takes us on one wild ride. |
