New York City, 1939. Stewart Bailey is simultaneously mourning the death of his father and preparing for his imminent wedding to his socialite fiancee. Stewart inherited his father's restaurant, the success of which was built on its famous soup du jour. there's only one catchStewart's father took the recipe to the grave, and Stewart - along with everyone else in the story - winds up searching wildly for the missing recipe.

Set in 1953, this hilariously crazy comedy has Stanley, a young novelist in a small town on the prairies, writing children's stories under the pen name "Grandma Letty" for some quick income. Worried that no one will take his other work seriously if they know he writes children's books, Stanley has kept his occupation a secret. That is not easy to do in a small town! But complications arise when Grandma Letty's books become world famous, and the big city publisher demands that "she" accept her writing awards in person. Life magazine gets involved, the newsreels are sending a crew, and Stanley's world is spinning out of control. Stanley has no other choice but to impersonate his pen name - he becomes Grandma Letty, skirts and all!

Set in 1938, "Schoolhouse" is a delightfully funny and nostalgic play about the one room schoolhouses of the prairies. Melita Linton is 19 years old and has just finished her teacher's training. She has accepted a position at the SS #1 Jericho School where they have gone through six teachers already, and the year isn't even half over. Melita may not look much older than her students, but they soon realize she is not so easily dismissed. Melita's spirit and desire to teach cannot be daunted, even when the new boy arrives at school. Ewart is a foster child sent from the boys' training school and is twice her size. Everyone learns that grit, determination, a sense of humour and creativity are not determined by age or size!

Little sister Ingrid looks to take advantage of the situation, teenage sister Maureen tries to convince Edward it's all an elaborate hoax, and Dad is concerned that someone is trying to take advantage of his son. "Santa's Letters" is a gentle reminder that the spirit of Christmas really can last all year long!

Find out what yoga, residential schools and the missing thirteenth floors have in common in the new comedy by Kenneth T. Williams. Bannock Republic reunites the cousins Jacob and Isaac Thunderchild 10 years after the mayhem of Thunderstick. This time, a beautiful and vengeful third-party manager will wreak havoc with their lives. Jacob is working as a video journalist and barely clinging to his sobriety. Isaac is now chief of their reserve and trying to get the band out of debt. Destiny Charles, appointed to take over the band's finances, will make Jacob and Isaac realize that some secrets are better left buried.

Bessie, married 2 years drowned in bath, Alice married six weeks drowned in bath, Margaret married one day drowned in bath. George Joseph Smith "the brides in the bath murderer" was brought to justice by Scotland Yard in 1915, but how does a man convince three women to take out life insurance policies and marry him within days of meeting him? The three breathless brides surface from bathtubs full of water to gather evidence against their womanizing, murderous, husband by reliving the shocking events leading up to their deaths. The Drowning Girls swept Calgary's Betty Mitchell Awards, winning four awards, including best production.

The Shakespeare on the Saskatchewan Festival is renowned for its contemporary approach to Shakespeare by making his works relevant in current context. Two full-length plays are performed in repertory and a musical revue, beginning the first week in July and running until mid August along the river bank in Saskatoon.
